Energy and Infrastructure

We have advised on a number of global major projects on energy and infrastructure.

We recently drafted and negotiated client, construction and subcontractor agreements (domestic and international) for a major energy producer for a off shore platform. We have similarly advised on a number of other power projects globally and assisted in negotiating a difference of opinion on a USD 3.5 billion thermal power generation business valuation through a technical and clearly articulated opinion.

We have also advised a construction engineering multinational energy and infrastructure consultant regarding a range of corporate commercial matters, geographical expansion in Asia Pacific and the GCC. This included negotiating complex partnering arrangements, tax restructuring, employment matters and providing advising on disputes, contract management issues, collections, projects, regulatory, compliance, licensing, legislative processes and claims, IP and dispute resolution (Global with a headquarter in the UK).

Areas where we have advised are clean energy and sustainability, electric power, finance, disputes, energy trading, environmental, gas and coal, mining, nuclear, oil and gas, PPP social infrastructure, transport infrastructure and water. Most firms tend to work around oil and gas. This breaks down into upstream and downstream work. Upstream refers to the locating and exploiting of oil and gas fields. Downstream refers to everything related to transport, processing and distribution pipelines, refineries and petrol stations.
